Welcome to the 2013 edition of our travel journal.
From our last conversation (you may recall), we have been using the RV as our primary abode since 1999 -- although I was still working, we did work-related travel by air until 2007. In 2007, we began using the RV nearly full-time (starting with Mesa for square dancing and MLB spring training); ultimately, we sold our stix-n-brix home in San Jose (2009), beginning our full-time RV lifestyle.
We did (sorta) flunk full-timing in 2011; to relieve my recurring headache (related to not visiting OR reducing our rental-storage in Calif) we caved in to the need to store our stuff -- SO, rather paying "rent" in Calif, we bought a place in Mesa. Now, we still have our stuff in storage, but (a) we own it, (b) it's in a truly climate-controlled environment, and (c) the property is large enough for us to park the RV (rent-free).
So, that about brings things up-to-date since the original blog I started in 2007... so, I will now resume with our current travelogue -- eventually, will consider posting some of the adventures from the intervening years, 2008 thru 2012. For now, suffice it to say, we plan to cross the continent each year, sustaining relationships with family and friends in all 4 time zone
